Meet The Team

  • A fabulous 3D Artist, Hee Hye, began working as an intern at Postal then Chimney before joining the Bonfire family. Hee Hye is a graduate of SVA in computer art.

  • Mike is a post-producer with a penchant for problem-solving. He has worked on a wide gamut of material from commercial edit/animation to longform feature and documentary. He is always on the hunt for solutions that satisfy creative needs while keeping projects on budget and schedule, and is a firm believer in the power of keeping a smile on everyone’s face.

  • Creative Director Gene Nazarov was born in Russia and raised in Manhattan where he attended NY’s famed LaGuuardia high school, graduating from SVA in computer arts and graphic design. He began his  career at the legendary London-based Attik, followed by Brand New School,  UVPHactory and The Mill.  Gene brings formidable skills to Bonfire in both 3D and 2D design. His work includes projects for Coke, Pepsi, Disney, Bulova and Nike.

  • Brendan started shooting and editing skate films in 1999 when he was 12 years old and quickly fell in love with post production. He moved to NYC and began his career at The Mill, learning Nuke, Flame, Resolve and other software platforms. Since then he has lead various top tier projects and teams around the world at various studios including The Mill, MPC, Framestore, Artjail and Fuse FX. He has VFX supervised numerous shoots and worked with hundreds of global brands. After rising to the top of the VFX industry, Brendan founded Bonfire in 2016 and opened the first flagship Bonfire studio in NYC’s Flatiron district in 2018.

  • Aron is a Director & Creative Director at Bonfire.

    Aron leads, nurtures and directs projects with a passionate vision. With a background in Design & VFX, his work reflects a cinematic esthetic across all disciplines, from traditional storytelling to immersive & interactive projects.

    He has worked extensively throughout Europe & in his hometown of London. Now based in New York City, his work has graced feature films (Goldeneye, Muppet Treasure Island, Les Miserables, The Borrowers, Low Down), TV episodic (Elementary, The Blacklist), and directed numerous commercials including Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality & Stereoscopic 3D projects, Music Videos, and designed broadcast graphics & film titles.

    He grew up under the mentorship of heavy hitting production designers Anton Furst (Batman, Full Metal Jacket) and Terry Ackland-Snow, (Batman, Aliens, Rocky Horror). He studied Graphic Design & Animation.

    Aron has won many awards for his work including recognition at Promax, The Latin Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards & a D&AD Pencil for Best Visual Effects for the Kanye West video Power.

    On his creative journey he has also worked as graphic designer, typographer, calligrapher, compositor, art teacher, visual artist and snowboard instructor.

  • Kait is a Producer and a Bonfire OG. Before entering the world of visual effects Kait worked at ad and marketing agencies. She previously worked as an Account Manager and Brand Specialist with MKTG representing a portfolio of brands including Guinness, Don Julio & Johnnie Walker. As a VFX assist she has worked on commercials and featured series from brands such as ESPN, Hyundai & HBO.

  • Jason is a Partner and the Managing Director of Bonfire. Prior to joining Bonfire he was the Managing Director and Partner of the award winning NYC Digital Media Studio, Click 3X. Since joining Click 3X in 2001, he had helped grow the studio from a 20 person VFX boutique to a fully integrated digital production company staffed with over 75 full time employees, including designers, 2D and 3D animators, live action directors, producers, developers, editors, colorists and VFX artists. Jason is currently a contributing writer for the Forbes business council of NYC. In his free time he was the author of the award winning Dad blog, Out-Numbered. When he started Out-Numbered in 2008 it was one of the pioneer sites in the Dad Blogging space. The coolest thing that ever happened to him as a “Dad blogger” was when he was named to the “25 Dads Who Rock” list published by Working Mother, keeping company with Barak Obama, Jay-Z, David Beckham and Brad Pitt. Jason also published the children’s book, “Do Witches Make Fishes?” All of the profits from the book are donated to The Garden of Dreams Foundation.
